Duh! Thanks Jon! BTW, I "think" I'm using MAMP, this is on Windows, except it's the "XAMPP" server and directory and all that..

Why don't you ask on the XAMPP forums? That's the best place to ask. Assuming that you took the defaults when installing XAMPP it should produce a page as you note. I'm assuming that you know that Apache is working by testing with a "bad" page request.

I moved to MAMP some 18 months ago so I don't have working XAMPP to compare to - but when I did have problems the XAMPP support forums sorted me out - sometimes - just sometimes - Midrange.com is not the best source.
