The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

I have a Win2K PC that has started to show a message box after being
restarted. It's just a message box with "Message" as its title bar
text and with "A network error has been found. The update document
is not available." as its message text. It has [OK] and [Cancel]
buttons, though [Cancel] seems to have no purpose.
I've done a number of searches to see if any files contain text like
["network error has been found"], but no hits. Example searches were
over the entire C:\WINNT and C:\Program Files and a few other
directory paths.
So, the question: If a message box is being displayed on a Win2K
desktop, is there a useful way to determine where it came from?
Fully patched Win2K, Zone Alarm, AVG, Ad-Aware, Open Office,...
everything works as I expect. Lots of other stuff installed on D:\,
E:\ and J:\ drives; but full-text searches can take some time. Just
curious if anyone ever learned a neat trick about tracking...
Thanks for any suggestions.
