Where did you hear that? Windows 7 includes Windows Defender (just
like Vista already does), but that's not AV Software. See e.G.

Oh well, I guess I've been spoiled with not having to need a antivirus on
iSeries...too bad IBM is letting it decline...
Antivirus programs are made to make up for user stupidity and bad
practices in most shops - they're horrible ineffective at what they do
- a proper security policy is much more effective than any antivirus
program you'll ever find.
The average Windows shop runs all their users with Administrator
privileges and lets them execute random code no matter where they've
got it from - this makes sense in a home context, but doing it like
this in a company is a recipe for disaster.
Imaging an IBM i admin downloading random SAVF from porn sites,
running RSTOBJ on them as QSECOFR and then calling the programs
contained in the savefile. Sounds extremely stupid, doesn't it? But
that's how many Windows shops handle their security.
