Lukas / Adam,

A trick does not require 3rd party executables is to immediately
launch a second, minimized cmd window, like this:

Or perhaps better yet, create a PIF for the batch file and set it to simply
start minimized (or use a shortcut to launch it, and set the shortcut's
properties to start minimized).

Note however that while this avoids the console window from looking like a
DOS box, it still appears on the task bar for the duration of the command.
Using a script or my linked Hiderunner approach keeps it off the taskbar
too.

And be aware that some anti-virus software disables script execution by
default, with no warning message to the user.
