Thanks, Walden... that's what I feared... but hoped had NOT to recognize...

Now, having accepted that as a fact... I'd like to add that I use Mozilla's Thunderbird for my mail, and have not been able to customize its contatcs list view appearance either!!! Tried to config its various .css files... No success either.

Anyway, coming back to my original question, the reason I was trying to customize Windows .wab is: my Nokia mobile will synchronize its contacts list with that from Windows, not with Thunderbird...

that's built into windows, why should this be possible at all? Use a
more capable program like Outlook and you'll be all set. Expecting WAB
to have advanced features is like expecting DFU to behave like DBU. :-)

Very often simplest things drive me crazy in Windows:
Running Win/XP, Start/Programs/Accesories/AddressBook
you get a window with your address book.
Select , say Main Identities Contacts. Great. All contacts shown.
Double click on anyone of them: Summary data shows for that contact,
e.g. Name, Adrress, Personal Telephone, Mobile, Work Telephone, etc so many different fields...
But once you accept it and go back to main contacts list, only Name, and

two or three more fields are shown...
How can *the list of fields shown* in the contact list be modified, i.e.

customized to my needs?
Should be easy, isn't it?
Easy things are always so difficult to find! Googled and search different forums... No success.
