This method would most likely work, if you can find another MWBE II device
that is /exactly/ the same as the one you have.
I recently had a fried disk controller on a 300 GB Western Digital HD (the
circuit board ON the drive) and I took the controller card from an identical
drive and was able to get the data off the bad one and copy it to another
disk successfully.
