This sounds like a cable nightmare. Is there any particular reason why
you do not want to consider having a tiny computer "behind" each
display, or a dedicated screen appliance?


$$$ We are investigating this because "one PC per monitor is too
expensive". When I asked what the budget was I was told that it wasn't
known but we needed to provide a good solution at a reasonable cost. ROI
calculations may be a bit more involved, though...
