Sounds like a bridge if you're talking
(internet) -- (router w/ WiFi) -[wireless]- (bridge) -[wired ethernet]- (PC)
Could be a Wireless Access Point (WAP) if you're talking
(internet) -- (router) -[wired Ethernet]- WAP -[wireless]- (PC)
If you're looking at a bridge, instead of that maybe look for a USB WiFi dongle with Linux support. Partial list:

Subject: [PCTECH] wi-fi receiver whatchmacallit
Esteemed PC-Tech listers:
What is the name for a device that *receives* a wi-fi internet signal and
uses an ethernet cable that connects to a PC? I'm pretty sure I've seen
this before, but am unable to remember enough to set up a search for one.
And product recommendations are welcome as well.
I have an Ubuntu box that I have given up trying to get a wireless card to
work in. I know the ethernet port works, but the Ubuntu box will be in a
room in my house that I cannot easily wire with ethernet.
TIA,
Dan
