I've had SP3 on 4 machines at home for awhile (3 XP Pro and 1 XP Home) with
no issues. My work laptop was the guinea pig last week and the only issue
was when I ran defragmenter afterwards. I had a "MMC [Microsoft Management
Console] has detected an error in a snap-in. It is recommended that you
shut down and restart MMC" message. The default option was "Continue
running and ignore errors with this snap-in for the rest of the session". I
continued running, rebooted, then went to run defragmenter again to see if
the error was still there, and it was gone. Not sure if this was a SP3
thing or just a Windows thing. Anyway, no serious issues for me.
