googled on 'wiki server' and got this - http://www.wikiserver.org/ - have no idea of whether it is good, but it claims to be simple. Claims to have everything packaged. So might have database already in it.

Our green-haired-kids put in meidawiki http://www.mediawiki.org/

There's a wiki here at midrange - also powered my mediawiki

And at wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki_software has a list of wiki software with comparisons. Can't vouch for any of it, of course - standard CYA disclaimers apply.

So play around - HTH

After some discussions in our group about documentation and how to's,
I got the idea that it might be helpful to create a wiki site for our
internal documentation. I have done some Google searching but all I
seem to find is hosting sites. I would really like to host it
internally. Can someone point me in the right direction to get
something like this started?

I found it quite easy to install Mediawiki for midrange.com. I just
followed the install instructions in the package.

'course I already had Linux & mySQL running.
