The Can SPAM Act made it worse; before it was enacted my 'personal spam'
was down around 250-300 a day.

Can SPAM only effects legitimate mailers. 'Course I'm annoyed at the whole idea of Can-Spam, as it doesn't address the fact that I didn't want to get on the mailing list in the first place.

I've sent complaints to various 'legit' spammers ISP (AT&T mostly) and gotten replies to the effect of 'Have you tried to unsubscribe from their list as outlined in the CAN Spam act?'.
