Actually, this isn't a For Sale posting. I'm just wondering if the
basic idea is of interest to our community. I'm one of those strange
people who thinks a phone should be a phone; I don't have any desire to
hold a PC up to my ear (or to have one of those Borg implants). At the
same time, laptops are not always the best solution. So while I was
looking for a Linux desktop machine to play with and at the same time
trying to find a better traveling PC, I ran across the ASUS Eee PC, and
I'm hooked.
The 7" screen is small, and the keyboard is a little cramped (though
surprisingly usable thanks to very nice tactile feedback). As a true
PC, it's a lot better than a Blackberry and it's running a pretty
standard Xandros Linux (tweaked for the solid-state drive), which means
you can get most Debian packages (e.g., tn5250).

Would anybody be interested in a small, light secondary machine that
runs a full Linux distro (complete with office and remote desktop) and
can also run 5250 and Citrix, with Ethernet and WiFi built in, and that
can be tethered to your mobile phone, for $350? It's only got 512MB and
a 4GB solid-state drive, but you can add disk space using SDHC cards.
In fact, you can boot alternate OSes by using different SDHC cards.

Specs?
Not that I'm specifically interested, but detail specs always help the
purchase decision.
