Hi,

As most on this list probably aren't tracking Windows development as
close, i just wanted to drop a note both Windows Server 2008 and
Windows Vista SP1 have been released to manufacturing.

What does that mean?

The final bits for Windows Server 2008 are already available for
TechNet and MSDN Subscriber Downloads. Most companies have one of
both, and this will give you access to the released bits. WS 2008 will
GA March 1st.

Windows Vista SP1 is not available yet for download. It will GA in mid
march in Tier 1 Languages (English, German, some more ;). Mid April
for the Rest of the languages.

Vista SP1 is a fix-only Servicepack, as such it contains few added
functionality.

Windows Server 2008 on the other hand offers lots of new
functionality. If you have not played with WS2008 yet, you should
definitively give it a try.

For more Information about WS2008, see http://blogs.technet.com/windowsserver/

For more Information about Vista SP1, see
http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsvista/archive/2008/02/04/announcing-the-rtm-of-windows-vista-sp1.aspx

Have a nice day!

Lukas
