Office 2007+ and the Mac

I bought a copy of Office 2007 last year when I could still get it with a
student discount. I was less than impressed with the new interface. They
made it more complicated to do basic tasks. I'm still finding my way
around. Luckily, this is on my laptop which I don't need to use that
often. My wife has a Macbook laptop that I rarely touch. It has a
pre-2007 Mac version of Office on it. I heard that Microsoft was
releasing a new version for the Mac this year. Is it safe to assume that
they changed the interface to be more like the PC Office 2007 version?
