Well, the main advantage from my perspective is that all your mail is
stored on the server. Thus, wherever and however you access it, you'll
always have the same mail. Including mail you've moved into folders.
For instance: I access my midrange.com mail from work and home. If I
move a message into a folder at work, when I get home the message is in
that folder.
Additionally, I have web access to my mail. My webmail client
(SquirrelMail) uses IMAP ... so I have full access all my mail that way too.
FYI: Outlook seems to have a few problems with IMAP ... specifically not
using the Sent Mail folder correctly (as Joe recently found out).
