Installed Ubuntu 7.04 last night on a spare PC.

Now I'm looking for software, free / open source. I went to sourceforge,
but was surprised that they didn't let you select projects that support
Linux, leaving you to wade through all of the Windows-only titles.
Either look into "Add/remove software" on the programs tab (I believe), or at the Synaptic program in the administration submenu.
I think you will find more software than you expected, and it is just a few mouseclicks to install...
