Jon, At David's suggestion I switched to Thunderbird a few years ago and have had no issues. Its easy to use and set up, and reliable.

I take that back. I do have one issue, but I suspect that is me, not Thunderbird. I do not care for the way that the compose in HTML option sends mail to non-HTML addresses, like midrange.com. The plain text never seems to come out as just plain text.
