I don't think IBM will suddenly say your activation is no longer valid.
We've been fighting this on one of our Dells at home. As far as we can
tell, nothing has changed. A hard drive failed a couple of years ago and
was replaced and some memory was added a year ago. The Dell reinstallation
disk was used for the new hard drive. Last fall we started getting the "not
valid" message. I've given up fighting it.
