So I don't. But it dawns on me that after several years, maybe MS has got it right and I am just being silly.
The problem isn't ActiveX controls themselves, their perfectly fine. The problem is that anyone can create one, and therefore you don't know what it's doing on your machine... And it's not sandboxed like a java applet. So... If you trust the source then feel free, but I wouldn't go running from just any old website. -Walden
