Most PCs and hence most copies of Windows being sold since around mid-November have had either free or cheap (like $10) Vista upgrades bundled. The laptop I bought for my mother in law came with it, although I've no intention of redeeming it.
Did Dell send you the coupon? Is the coupon specific to Dell? I.e., did Dell produce it? Or Microsoft? Is the coupon tied specifically to your purchase (i.e. only you can redeem it) and does it specify which version of Vista you are entitled to? What version of XP came with the laptop? If you were to redeem it, to whom would you mail it? - Dan
