You are correct David - that was the nicads. We bought a ton of notebooks
back at that job. At a much smaller company and don't by many anymore and
wasn't sure what they were now; other than flame throwers :-)

I think that was in the days of nicad batteries ... modern batteries are
lithium ion, which don't have a memory and thus don't need to be
discharged completely to avoid a memory.
