I'll look into that but KNOW I found a setting to change previously on
another one but it was the search of a lifetime and not obvious at all as I
vaguely recall :-)

The mouse properties seem to be different on every PC I have used depending
on the manufacturer and model.  I don't recall options on controlling the
hover text so it might have been specific to a manufacturer.  It may also
be that you may need to download Microsoft Power Toys, specifically Tweak
UI.

I haven't messed with Power Toys since Windows 98 but it sounds like a good
option to check out.
