When it comes to doing anything about spam coming out of their netspace, yes.
I'm Verizon-free at home (Vonage) and by January I believe our company will be Verizon-free.
I'm assuming that you will still have a static IP address as you do now. Once you know what your IP address will be, please let me know so that I can whitelist it if needed (or if not needed, make a note so if I add a block later, that I whitelist it at that time).
And be careful about not jumping from the frying pan into the fire with a new ISP.
