connecting two laptops to USB - easy question -- PCTECH

Easy (maybe dumb question)
Just bought a $79 inkjet for the upstairs. I do not use USB much.
I am thinking of connecting two PC's to a USB hub for printing convenience.

Does USB honor all sorts of connections like this or am I asking for trouble?
Normally I would use a solid print server but...thought I would ask.
