Does your state have a "public services commission"?  In Michigan, they
regulate utilities (not sure if cable companies fall in that category).  But
there might be some regulatory agency in your state that can "turn screws"
on your behalf.


I might've posted a few related links to this a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure 
that any state agency would do much, but ya' never know. The whole thing is 
getting to be a bigger mess every couple of months. This link from Forbes
