Based on Rat-Shack prices, it seemed that the cable cost would have only been around a few thousand dollars. Apparently, they felt that the labor to string the line and pay pole rental fees to the power company was not worth the hassle for a couple of dozen homes. The letter I received recommended that I contact all of the potential households and get them to "chip in" to help pay for the cost....riiiight... Up here (in the People's Democratic Republik of New York), contacting the Public Service Commission was a waste of time. Kodak moment? LOLOL...even a seasoned sailor would have been embarrased by my vocabulary :-O Terry Winchester Programmer/Analyst ________________________________ The Raymond Corporation terry.winchester@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In Michigan, they regulate utilities (not sure if cable companies fall in that category). But there might be some regulatory agency in your state that can "turn screws" on your behalf. Must have been a Kodak moment when they told you it would cost 49g's, eh? - Dan
