Other way around ... the WRT54G *IS* being used as a router ... the WRT54GC (travel router) isn't being used as a router, just a switch & access point. Neither is being used as a DHCP server, as my linux system is doing that job. As for the why of it ... just because I could. The WRT54GC was dirt cheap (around $20 a/r). david
