Granted AOL does deserve its share of slamming, but #1? I have to give them credit for getting a lot of people on to the internet in the first place. And they are still effective for those who don't want to have to worry about safe-surfing/viruses or how to manage a browser and email using another email client. It's good for those older folks like my parents who don't want to get educated but want to be able to do basic email and picture sharing and occasional surfing.
