Problem with XP and Scanning

Good Morning,
        We have a mix of XP and Win2K machines on our Network we also have a
Ricoh scanner/printer on the Network.  The scanner uses SMB to scan to a
shared folder on the PCs.  When we scan to a Win2K machine all is fine but
if it is an XP machine it fails. The scanner will let me log on the shared
directory but it won't allow a file to be created from the scanner even
using the User name and password of the Logged on User.

Anyone have any clues.
