Maybe the password is blanks, if you never set it up? Try just entering when you get that screen.

Hey all,

I just got my new home built desktop tweaked to exactly the way I want
it, and then made the fatal mistake of logging off rather than
restarting.

Now I've got the windows welcome screen, with a prompt for
administrator password. I never set up a password for my user nor for
an adminstrator, and now it won't let me logon.

This happened this morning just before I left for work, and didn't
have time to mess with it.

I've searched the ms knowlege base and nothing sounds exactly like my
problem, but several could be helpful but they all talk about doing a
start/run or editing the registry.

Can I boot into safe mode and monkey with the registry to get it back
to no-password no-user auto logon?

And the real question, why the hell does Monkeysoft even GIVE you the
option to log off instead of shutdown/restart when it MUST know that
you haven't provided a user or admin password?

b**tards!

thanks,

Rick
