Have you checked the security on the dell system?  If "Everyone" doesn't
have access to the shared resources I don't think it can be seen.

Also, I've noticed that sometimes when Zone Alarm is disabled it doesn't
allow access the way it should.  I've had to un-install & re-install
zone alarm to get it to work correctly (this only happened once ... and
it was a while ago).

As for the printer, have you considered picking up an inexpensive print
server?  I've got both my printers (inkjet and laserjet) on print
servers and have no problems.  The main reason I got the print servers
is because both my wife and I have laptops, so don't have a computer
that we can always hook the printer up to.
