Anybody got any experience of using Apache and PHP on Windows?

I followed the advice in the PHP install docs and did the install manually
(rather than using the pre-packaged Windows installer) and configured PHP
and Apache as instructed. But - I can't get a darn thing to work. PHP
works fine from the command line - but nothing works in the browser.

Closest (?) effort so far resulted in these entries in the log file:

[Mon Dec 19 19:49:19 2005] [error] [client 127.0.0.1]
c:/php/batchstuff/test.php is not executable;
ensure interpreted scripts have "#!" first line

OK. So I added the #! to the PHP file and now the log shows:

[Mon Dec 19 19:49:19 2005] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] couldn't spawn child
process:

Anyone got a simple php.ini and apache conf file they can share so I can
piece it together.

P.S. I'm a novice at this and "No sprechen the Unixese" so please respond
in something approximating English <grin>
