I don't think this is working with DESKTOPS ... as this product installs
 a display driver (for the remote display).

With Maxivista, multiple displays are active at the same time.

What I generally use it for is when I'm debugging ... I'll put my log
file display over on the remote display so I can keep track of things
without cluttering my primary display.
