Recover deleted files

Hi list!

I have searched around and I have some notes and pieces of software that 
will help me to recover files and folders but before going there, I 
decided to share my issue ion the list and hear your opinion of what have 
worked for you.  I was not lucky enough to have a more recent backup (the 
current one is 2 weeks old).

I have not compressed the hard drive but I did restored the 2 weeks old 
folder from my DVD.  Now, I am afraid that I will loose the capability of 
restoring anything after doing this.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.
