Fiber-optic vs. Cable

Hi list! 

With all these offers around, you want to try to save money but also 
invest in the best you can, specially when it comes down to internet 
access.

My question is: Fiber-optic vs. Cable - if they are about the same price, 
is it a good move to go for the fiber-optic?  Will I see a great 
difference?
