I know I should keep my mouth shut, but how do people get so much
spyware? I ran the scanner (quick, not deep) on my machine and the
_only_ thing if found was VNC, and I put that there.

Now, I use IE (and firefox), I visit web sites, I read HTML e-mail
w/outlook, I download and run programs even. Do I just not visit the
right (er, wrong) sites?

And it also has "real-time" protection to proactively catch a ton of
stuff
before it gets loaded !

This is a beta so it will be interesting if they think they should
CHARGE
for something to protect their "fill in the blank" operating system.

In working on this PC and while in the Registry it struck me how TOTALL
out
of control that is. There is no way in the WORLD there should be so many
different "things" in the Registry. It should be MAJORLAY redone and
simplified and it should be obvious to know what should and shouldn't be
there... <rant off> :-)

Along this same topic, is anyone's company using a commercial Spyware
package ?

I was reading up on one, SpyCatcher Enterprise from
http://www.tenebril.com/
and it is budget time and I am really wondering if it is time for
something
like this ?

Thanks,

Chuck

I haven't played with it yes, but from speaking to friends it has one
other nice feature, it runs as a service and supports limited capability
users -- so for those of us with kids setup as restricted users on the
PC it's still a useful tool!
