Well, as you've probably seen from the previous comments, you really need to check the two out in order to make a decision. It's entirely based on personal preference.


Since neither is deeply embedded into the OS, it's simple to uninstall them if they don't suite your needs.

Me, I'm using both Thunderbird and Firefox and wouldn't go back.

My only gripe would be on Thunderbird's filtering capabilities ... it seems somewhat sub-par. I liked Eudora's filtering capability.
