I've discovered in Zone Alarm logs my pc sending dns to a server in England (194.168.6.213). Turns out a client i connect with has an internal server with same address (they used a whole range of 194.168.x.x numbers and should not have - apparently they block the traffic getting "out"). I change my tcp properties to use my isp's dns and hours or days later my properties are somehow changed to the above 194.198 number. I also have WINS records pointing to other 194.168.x.x .I think my client's WINS server is altering my pc??? Question: is WINS needed for Client Access or Cisco vpn, or anything i do, which, beside web surfing, is connect to various as400's via cisco vpn or in some cases with MS Terminal Servers. No home network. Connected via cable modem. tia jim
