1. Boot without the port expander. 2. Plug in the port expander. 3. In Device Manager, delete the drivers for everything related to the expander. 4. Unplug the expander. 5. Re-plug it in. If auto-detect fails, reboot instead. This should force Windows to re-load the drivers. If they were corrupted before, hopefully this will fix it.
