Hi Dan, Yes, it boots a limited version of freebsd. And Yes, I Image my Win2k regularly even though it is pretty piggish. I have successfully restored a win98 image to another machine and restored a winnt 4 image to a little server - worked like a charm. Sure pulled my chestnuts out of the fire on the nt thing and dadgummed quick too - took about an hour and a half to restore - backing up is slower. Totally operating system independent - just images the raw drive, compresses it on the fly and sends it to an ftp server on the network... No. I Use window's Defrag. There is a Freeware program mentioned on the g4u site which will write the zeroes. I do that during the day in the background and boot to a g4u floppy at quitting time and have it do the backup. Regards Rick DuVall Systems Manager Dealer's Auto Auction of Okc, Inc. Rick@xxxxxxxxxx <mailto:Rick@xxxxxxxxxx> (405) 947-2886 Rick, Does G4U run from a bootable floppy? So one might be able to image a Windows system? Are you implying that G4U can do the defrag and write hex zeros as well? db
