RE: Is Windows XP more secure than Windows 2000?

In theory, if XP's firewall was activated it should be more secure.
Still not actually secure (unless powered off, of course), but a little
closer.  Without the firewall, I'd probably call it a wash.

XP SP2 will hopefully help.

Stability-wise I've had no issues with either.  Either can stay up for
weeks at a time w/o rebooting.  But then, I got similar stability from
Win98.

Under the assumption that both are fully patched, it seems obvious to me
that WinXP would be.

How about stability?

The reason I ask is that one of our users just got a new PC delivered
with Win2k installed.  When I asked why not XP, I was told that "they"
standardized on Win2k.  I do not know who "they" are.
