Hmm... sounds like spyware at work. First run Spybot S&D or Adaware. Then see if you can change it. Otherwise, there is a cool new utility I found. X-Setup (http://www.x-setup.net/) allows you to do several registry hacks. That should fix it. I would highly recomend SpyBot S&D.
