Is Windows XP more secure than Windows 2000? -- PCTECH

Under the assumption that both are fully patched, it seems obvious to me
that WinXP would be.

How about stability?

The reason I ask is that one of our users just got a new PC delivered with
Win2k installed.  When I asked why not XP, I was told that "they"
standardized on Win2k.  I do not know who "they" are.
