As Potato Head says in Toy Story, I have taken stupid pills. When I deleted many of the messages in various inbox folders, I didn't empty the recycle bin before running the compact step. Once I did that it dramatically reduced the size of my .PST file. Thanks for the advice to all. ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Newman" <jabezinc@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "PC Tech" <PcTech@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 02, 2004 12:26 AM Subject: [PCTECH] How to decrease size of PST file I'm using OfficeXP and my PST file for Outlook is over 900 meg!! I've deleted several thousand messages in several inbox folders. I've also run the "compact now" feature in File/Data File Management/Settings but the size of the file has not decreased.
