Remove as in hide or get rid of. To get rid of you would need to uninstall the software or figure out within the software on how to remove it. To hide you (working from memory here) right click on the start menu, click properties. Then there is a notification bar customize button somewhere that you press. Then in there you can say to always hide, always show, or when inactive.
