We have a vendor that emails us invoices in fix-length ascii text file attachments and we use them to post to accts payable. for the last week or so, they've been arriving in various states of dissaray: sometimes, in the middle of a record, it will repeat the last 10 or 12 characters or so, sometimes it will skip a few characters, throwing the entire record format off. sometimes there are 1 or 2 errors in the file, sometimes there are a bunch, sometimes there are none. Sometimes if they send the same file twice, the changes are different. at first, i assumed that it was just a problem at thier end - but to test, I had her email - the same attachment in the same email - a good file (at her end) to both my yahoo account and my work notes account at the same time. I received the yahoo file via a browser, and it was perfect - the same file recieved by the work account was bad. has anyone heard of such a thing? we use domino/notes R5, McAffee enterprise virus scanner and trendmail for notes email scanner at the server level. can anyone give me an idea of where to look for this problem?
