I did a Google search on systemie. Lots and lots of hits, no mentions of
virus, but the responses looked like they were all in a Eastern European
language. Lnuux was mentioned too.

Not on my Win2K or Win95 boxes here at work. Win2K was upgraded from Win98.
I also think it is a virus.
