Conditional formatting will do what you need.

Click on A2
Goto Format|Conditional Formatting
Condition is "Cell Value Is" "equal to" "=a1"
Click Format and set the font color to white
Click OK and OK again.

Now Copy A2
Select A3...Awhatever

Paste Special and select Formats

The duplicate values will be there, but since they are in a white font
you won't see them on the screen on on paper.

Is there a way to do this in Excel?
        Col 1 Col 2
Row 1 AAAA 1234
Row 2 AAAA 5678
Row 3 AAAA 2222
Row 4 AAAA 5874
Row 5 BBBB 1234
Row 6 BBBB 5678

What I want is when it prints to show like this

        Col 1 Col 2
Row 1 AAAA 1234
Row 2 5678
Row 3 2222
Row 4 5874
Row 5 BBBB 1234
Row 6 5678

i.e. if Col A has same value as the row above it don't print/make blank
Col A
