Still having issues telling me everything is for a different operating
system..

yum version
Installed: $releasever/ppc
41:83d4e70a8b8f1795ffa660bae94d31636524e249
Group-Installed: yum
4:209acd815745d342908446ef83b21b8a9a874aee
version

I found one post that said the problem is most likely $releasever. How can
I set this to 7.4?

I tried this:

https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/s/question/0D50z000062l2o5/yum-and-rootca-certificate?language=en_US

Edit /opt/freeware/etc/yum/yum.conf and add "sslverify=false" to the
[main] section. This will allow you to "yum reinstall ca-certificates -y"
after which you should remove the yum.conf entry and function normally.

Got this:
yum reinstall ca-certificates -y
Setting up Reinstall Process
ibm | 3.6 kB 00:00
No Match for argument: ca-certificates
Package(s) ca-certificates available, but not installed.
Nothing to do

so I did

yum install ca-certificates -y

package libp11-kit0-0.23.14-1.ppc64 is intended for a different

Wonderful stuff. :)

I saw the typo... thanks. Now this. Do I need to manually update curl
or openssl first?
