The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Not the answer to your question, but consider looking at adminer. Easier to setup, and in my opinion easier to use.
As to the specific problem, without the actual errors from the log and the config file, it would just be guessing.
